Day 1 - OR Tambo to Kloten Airport, Zurich. (20/01/2018)
Travel from OR Tambo International Airport to Tromso, Norway.
Day 2: Tromso (21/01/2018)
Today you arrive in Tromso - affectionately called "The Paris of the North." After arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to the Thom Polar Hotel for check-in. The afternoon is yours to do as you please. With coffee shops and boutiques around every corner, Tromso is a place that can be enjoyed by all ages. Tonight is our first real chance of seeing the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).
Day 3: Chasing the lights (22/01/2018)
The morning is yours to explore on your own. Toning you are going on a hunt for the magical Northern Lights. Traverse into the countryside and even into Finland if necessary to find a nice, clear spot. Once the best site is found, your guide will set up camp with a bonfire, where you can settle in, relax with homemade soup, and take some pictures.
The tours depart at 18:00 and last up to 7 hours, make sure you get enough sleep during the day!
Day 4: Tromso (23/01/2018)
Day at leisure to catch up on some sleep after the previous evening's fun. We will gladly assist you in arranging the adventure of your choice (own expense). Some recommended activities are Husky Sledding Riding, Snowmobiling, Snowshoe Hiking, Fjord Cruise or a Cultural Tour.
Day 5: Tromso (24/01/2018)
The morning is yours to explore on your own. Toning you are going on another hunt for the magical Northern Lights - an Aurora Cruise. Find yourself a comfortable spot and snack or Arctic tapas made with local and seasonal ingredients. Dishes might include reindeer or lamb, fish soup or smoked fish. Using the most up-to-date meteorological data, the boat finds the best spot for viewing the lights.
Day 6: Oslo (25/01/2018)
Today you leave Tromso behind and start making your way back home. You will overnight in Oslo, and enjoy a lovely traditional Norwegian dinner.
Day 7: Oslo to OR Tambo (27/01/2018)
The last trip of your journey - hope to see you soon for another adventure!
Due to the current solar cycle, this is officially your best chance to see the Northern lights in the next decade or so. Husky sledge rides, snowmobile excursions, open fire dinners while chasing the lights and remote wilderness visits to increase your chances even more.
