Australian Adventures


Day 1 & 2 - OR Tambo to Sydney  

Travel from OR Tambo International Airport to Sydney - the most populous city in Australia and Oceania.  Sydney, the capital of New South Wales is best known for its magnificent waterside Opera House, Darling Harbour and the famous Darling Harbour Bridge, and the esteemed Royal Botanical Gardens.  Another attraction not to be missed is the Sydney Tower with its outdoor platform, the Skywalk, from where you have an unobstructed 360-degree view of the city.  Arrive at Sydney around 15:00.  You will be transferred your hotel on arrival in Sydney.  Feel the beat of the city, experience life “down-under”!  The rest of the evening is free for you to explore Sydney to your heart’s content.

Day 3 & 4: Sydney 

After a scrumptious breakfast, it is time to explore the Darling Harbour area.  Which of the various attractions to visit depends on you.  Admire the world-famous Sydney Opera House, climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge if you dare, watch a movie in a 9D theatre (YES! 9D!), visit the Taronga Zoo or explore some of the nearby beaches.  The choice is yours.  Late afternoon we all gather again to board a deluxe sunset cruise of Sydney Harbour accompanied by a delicious 2-course dinner with unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks.  See iconic sights such as the Sydney Opera House, Darling Harbour Bridge, Fort Denison and Luna Park from a different perspective.  The rest of the evening is free to enjoy as you please.  Explore the awe-inspiring Blue Mountains – one of the most spectacular parts of the country. For those of you who can’t wait to meet the local wildlife – this is your chance!  Get up close with a koala or hand-feed a kangaroo!  From there we are off to Scenic World for an unforgettable adventure. Cable car, Skyway and Railway, here we come!  No better way to admire the scenery – you are guaranteed exquisite vistas from all perspectives.  After an exciting day filled with fun and adventure, it is time for a leisurely river cruise back home.

Day 5: Sydney to Cairns 

Say farewell to Sydney - today will be your last in Sydney and first in Cairns.  You will be transferred to your hotel on arrival, where-after you will have ample time at leisure to discover some of Cairn's secrets.

Day 6, 7 & 8: Cairns – Island day trip 

The Great Barrier Reef – an exquisite natural phenomenon visible from space.  No visit to Australia is complete without diving or snorkelling the reef.  Cruise by ferry to a magnificent island where you will enjoy up to seven hours of leisure time.  Snorkel the reef, enjoy a trip on a glass bottom boat or hike any of the five different trails.  A lovely lunch is included. Enjoy the beautiful beaches, visit the Kurunda Rain Forest, shop for the loved ones back home or discover the culinary delights the city has to offer – the choice is yours.  

Venture deep into the heart of the rainforest.  Journey past Port Douglas, one of Australia’s most scenic drives.  Visit Wildlife Habitat before crossing the Daintree River on board a cable-driven vehicle ferry.  After enjoying a tropical lunch, it is time to explore the rainforest canopy from a unique perspective during your jungle canopy tour.  On your way back, take a leisurely cruise on the Daintree River among mangroves, impenetrable rainforest jungle, and crocodile—infested rivers.  Not for the fainthearted. 

Day 9: Cairns - Melbourne 

Today we leave the quiet romance of Cairns behind for the hustle and bustle of lively Melbourne.  You will be transferred to your hotel on arrival, where-after you will have ample time at leisure to explore this lively city.

Day 10 & 11: Melbourne 

For those of you who used to be a “Neighbours” fan – you can now book an official tour of the neighbourhood where the soapie was filmed.  For the brave and those not afraid hights, why not visit the Eureka Skydeck, officially the highest viewing platform in the Southern Hemisphere.  Looking for a more cultural experience?  Dinner in the unique Tramcar Restaurant is a must!  Enjoy a 5* dinner, while travelling through the streets of Melbourne in style.  A visit to the Yarra Valley wine estates is also an experience not to be missed.

Relish the unique scenery of Melbourne’s surrounding countryside as you travel along one of the world’s most iconic coastal roads – the Great Ocean Road.  Start with morning tea in Colac, stop to view landmarks like the Gibson Steps, Loch Ard Gorge and the 12 Apostles.  Tuck into a delicious picnic lunch, before taking a hike through the Otway rainforest.  Spot koalas along the Kennett River and enjoy dramatic views over Apollo Bay.  Today you are spoiled with lunch and dinner.

Day 12: Melbourne to OR Tambo 

We come to the end of a wonderful journey and must leave for ORT today.  Don't despair, there are still some beautiful things to see along the way! We have a long layover at Sydney, you might be able to fit in some sightseeing.

Safe and sound back home.



Australia - land of contrasts.  Experience the hustle and bustle of large cities like Sydney and Melbourne, the desolate outback with miles and miles of nothing, the lush tropical rainforests of Cairns and the magical Great Barrier Reef.  Truly an experience never to forget.
